In reaction to the budget announcement, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar commented, "I have consistently advocated for Special Category Status. I requested either special status or a special package... Instead, we have received aid for Bihar." Kumar acknowledged the financial support as a positive step, despite the absence of Special Category Status.
Addressing reporters outside the Bihar Assembly, Kumar, who has had a fluctuating relationship with the BJP and NDA, added, "Sab kuch dhire dhire jaan jaiyega" (Everything will become clear in due course).
