Title: Not Just Sanju Samson, These Three Players Are Also Unlikely to Get a Spot in India's T20 Team; A Legendary Bowler Included in the List
With Gautam Gambhir stepping in as the new coach of the Indian cricket team, significant changes are taking place. One of the most notable shifts is the selection of Suryakumar Yadav as the captain of the T20 team. Gambhir's tenure as coach started off on a high note with a series win against Sri Lanka. The Indian team achieved a comprehensive victory in the T20 series against Sri Lanka.
Malayali star Sanju Samson was part of the Indian team for this series, but his performance was disappointing. This has led to widespread speculation that Samson is likely to be dropped from the T20 team. However, along with Sanju, a few other star players are also unlikely to secure a spot in India's T20 squad in the near future. Let’s take a look at who these players are.
KL Rahul
Once a key player in India's T20 team, KL Rahul has played 72 matches and scored 2,265 runs. However, his strike rate in recent years has not been impressive. With many strong hard-hitters waiting for an opportunity, it seems unlikely that Rahul will find a place in the T20 squad anytime soon. That said, Rahul remains an integral part of the ODI team.
Sanju Samson
Before becoming the coach of the Indian cricket team, Gambhir had vocally supported Sanju Samson’s inclusion in the team. Fans were hopeful that Sanju would play a major role in the team under Gambhir's leadership. However, Samson’s performance in the T20 series against Sri Lanka, where he was dismissed for a duck in both of the last two games, was disappointing. This year alone, Samson has been dismissed for a duck three times in T20s. Having only managed to score less than 500 runs in the 30 T20 matches he has played so far, it is now highly unlikely that Samson will secure a place in India’s T20 squad anytime soon.
Yuzvendra Chahal
Chahal is India's all-time leading wicket-taker in T20s, having taken 96 wickets in 80 matches. Despite being part of the Indian squad for this year's T20 World Cup, Chahal didn’t get a chance to play
